Through his school my son was associated with Oxford University and one of it colleges, St. Cross. Unless you literally have a key (he did) or have paid to be on a tour visiting the inner court of these colleges is limited. It was a great pleasure to stroll around wherever I wanted. A gentleman came into my booth one time and immediately and with certainty identified this shrub. Of course, I did not write it down nor has anyone since make any such rash statements. When over the course of time�they do; I�ll pencil it in right here - ceanothus.

My subjects are both natural and architectural. I am interested in textures and shapes and how light and shadow play on those objects often creating new ones. I use a Nikon D-800, and an iPhone 10s Max. I make every effort to compose in the camera and thus I crop infrequently. I use Lightroom, Photoshop & NIK to work with highlights & shadows which often brings out the elements in a photograph for which I have primary interest. I have no hesitation using any other tool if the results make the photograph work. My preference is to do nothing to a photograph presenting it as it was taken. My web site is named light & shadows because both light and shadows are the visual elements that hold the most fascination for me. If time and space...
