Artist's Description

The Chiesa dei Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio alle Tre Fontane was filled with natural light. It is truly amazing how the light penetrates the interior of this sanctuary. It fills it like water to the brim only from the top down. On the first afternoon I fell behind due to my stumbling decent down the hill from the residence, and then I was stopped by the light at the intersection. At the street level I did a panoramic scan of the scene but I missed the Hat and his train at the ATM I had missed out on euro cash! Although this was Tre Fontane there were no fountains. Acqua frizzante or the acqua naturale was going to cost a euro. The little store at Tre Fontane did not take credit cards! I had no euros. This encouraged the thought of borrowing a euro as I was thirsty. The Young Illini volunteered to front me a euro. Nice kid. He was still a nice kid after nine more days.

About Joseph Yarbrough

Joseph Yarbrough

My subjects are both natural and architectural. I am interested in textures and shapes and how light and shadow play on those objects often creating new ones. I use a Nikon D-800, and an iPhone 10s Max. I make every effort to compose in the camera and thus I crop infrequently. I use Lightroom, Photoshop & NIK to work with highlights & shadows which often brings out the elements in a photograph for which I have primary interest. I have no hesitation using any other tool if the results make the photograph work. My preference is to do nothing to a photograph presenting it as it was taken. My web site is named light & shadows because both light and shadows are the visual elements that hold the most fascination for me. If time and space...
