Description
Portraiture is not a butterfly thing, or even a moth thing. We were heading down a asphalt path following one of several gorges that cut through the face of the mountain upon which Cornell University sits. Given the winter weather in the Southern Tier of New York one has to wonder that the entire mountain side leading up and I mean very steeply up to the university buildings is a challenge. The path was something of a side walk for a series of houses built along it precipitous length. Gong down is not as challenging except on this particular adventure there was this moth working the flower beds of these houses. Chasing after this fluttery fiend was indeed a challenge. After many misses I finally got a photograph, and proceeded to slide the rest of way down into Ithaca.
