Description
We were at the Chiesa del Gesù. We headed across the street/piazza to get in the shade. Espresso had to be acquired at a place just down the way before beginning the read. Latin was about to proceed under the gaze of several gargoyle lamps attached to the anointed building sitting in the shaded angle from the sun. Seating was uncomfortable on conical concrete traffic barriers or on the paving stone in front of what I think is some sort of rooming house residence. This was confusing day for me as we went fairly quickly from chisea to chisea. I could swear that we walked out the back door of one basilica (minor or major), and into the front door of the next chisea! I could not keep them straight inside or out. I know they are all distinct and unique, but not to this unaccustomed eye. It took me an hour today to make sure I knew where these gargoyle boys were hanging out. My head told me that it was chiesa earlier in the day, but I could not find in my photos or online my way across the via for that Latin read under those watchful gargoyle eyes. I finally could did and could sit easy.
