I was exploring a beach north of Naples, Florida that I had spotted on the map. Egress to Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is through some fancy beach residential areas but once into the park things go right back to normal beach-i-ness. The park is a barrier island. The center of the island park seems to be entirely covered with a tree-shrub. This particular growth was way prettier than any tag alder I ever walked by in a stream. At its height it reached thirty plus feet. However the enclosing effect was the same as tag alder. Once on the park drive one is entirely enclosed except from the sky. The park consisted of an asphalt drive up the center with various small parking areas. The aforementioned tree-shrubs revealed the Caribbean beach found down various sandy paths. As I finished walking as far as I wanted to walk in sand I turn up toward the trees-shrubs and there were these two park benches enveloped in trees. The light was just awesome. It was a scene not to be disturbed by even...

My subjects are both natural and architectural. I am interested in textures and shapes and how light and shadow play on those objects often creating new ones. I use a Nikon D-800, and an iPhone 10s Max. I make every effort to compose in the camera and thus I crop infrequently. I use Lightroom, Photoshop & NIK to work with highlights & shadows which often brings out the elements in a photograph for which I have primary interest. I have no hesitation using any other tool if the results make the photograph work. My preference is to do nothing to a photograph presenting it as it was taken.
