I never planned to go to Dubrovnik Croatia. Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia---the whole mess just seemed like a big hunk of hell to me. However, the cruise ship�s first port of call was Dubrovnik. It was wonderful. It is a walled city �of the medieval sort�squeezed between the Adriatic and the mountains. There were plazas, narrow streets, and terraces that held houses built up the side of the mountain. We walked down to their �beach� and walked along this wall that seems to have no purpose with a gate of equal import.
